INTERNSHIP - VOLUNTEER RELATIONS (NON-PAID)
AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2008
The Volunteer Relations Intern will assist the Volunteer Services Manager with various volunteer and community projects. This will include, but not be limited to, assisting with volunteer recruitment, orientation (public speaking), interviewing and training. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining volunteer files, planning and executing a volunteer recognition event, arranging for volunteers to participate in special events and working with the Program Services Department to track wishes.

Time requirement: Minimum 16 hours per week

Qualifying Skills:outgoing personality, excellent organization, written and oral communication skills, comfort with public speaking, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, computer proficiency an internet research skills.

INTERNSHIP - DONOR RELATIONS (NON-PAID)
AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2008
This intern will work with the Donor Relations team to cultivate, steward and recognize donors. This individual will assist with the direct mail campaign, research and writing of wish stories for the Adopt-A-Wish ® program, database segmentation, writing letters, coordinating donor receptions, and various other assignments as needed.

Time requirement: Minimum - 15 hours per week for 12-16 weeks

Qualifying Skills:Excellent writing and communication abilities, good organizational skills, analytical abilities to target appropriate donors based on demographic information, computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Web browsing, etc.), outgoing and enthusiastic to build relationships with donors, able to handle multiple tasks. College course work related to writing and communication required. Marketing/business development skills beneficial.

INTERNSHIP - PROGRAM SERVICES (NON-PAID)
AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2008

This individual will assist the Program Services Department in planning and follow-up of wishes for eligible children. This intern will also work with staff and volunteers on wish-related issues, assist with referral appreciation, execution of wish volunteer communication, updating wish database, Internet Research, and other administrative duties as assigned. The position will be reevaluated on a six month cycle based on the following factors: chapter fiscal considerations, volume of campaigns, present staff needs, and effectiveness of position in that cycle.

Time requirement: Three or more days per week for 12-16 weeks.

Qualifying Skills: complete ease and comfort dealing with individuals and businesses over the phone · self starter · good organizational skills · computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc) required· detail oriented · excellent customer service skills · two years of college completed in social work, psychology, child and family studies or a related field · Internet research skills · ability to handle multiple tasks.

INTERNSHIP - SPECIAL EVENTS (NON-PAID)
AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2008
The Special Events Intern supports the Foundation's major special events. The primary responsibilities include assisting with marketing of events, facilitating the donation of high-end auction items, and designing and implementing the visual aspects of silent auction displays. The Special Events Intern will also provide general assistance and office support to Development Team, and interact with donors and vendors relating to the events.

Time requirement: Minimum - 15 hours per week / Maximum - 20 hours per week

Qualifying Skills: complete ease and comfort in speaking with donors · excellent written and oral communication skills· good organizational skills · detail oriented · ability to handle multiple tasks · experience with visual display preferred.
